INTEGRATION OF DIVERSITY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION OF DISADVANTAGED GROUPS/BUILDING INCLUSIVE CLASSES

 Objectives 

Participants will: 

Will develop Intercultural Awarenesson social groups with less opportunities (due to disabilities, cultural differences, health issues, gender discrimination, geographical, social, and economical barriers) 

Learn how stereotypes and stigma for social groups are created 

Work on case studies in order to develop techniques for encouraging cross-cultural communication and to avoid prejudice among learners of different cultural backgrounds. 

Learn about intercultural pedagogy 

Learn about inclusive teaching (based on systemic theory, participants will learn to create a class where all members are mutually benefit through creativity and sharing experiences) 

Practice on ICT apps useful for those who work with students/ learners from disadvantaged groups 

Use art and drama techniques as teaching method to promote inclusive teaching Practice on outdoor activities that encourage participation and promote inclusion 

Develop competences in order to use non-fromal activities that promote inclusion 

Share best practices with other participants with different education experience

Schedule 

Day 1: Introduction to the course, presentation of the trainers. Icebreaking and team building activities (activities: meet my friend/”find someone who…” list). Participants will discuss about their expectations, fears and contribution to the course. 

Day 2: Start the day with an energizer! Theory: Prejudice, stereotypes and stigma; how are they formed? Activities in groups.

Day 3: Start the day with an energizer! Theory: Drama and art for inclusive teaching Activities (body mapping, collage & role play activities) 

Day 4: Start the day with an energizer! Theory: How technology can help in inclusion - apps and ICT tools for inclusion. Activities and practice on apps. Mid-term evaluation of the program using mobile app. 

Day 5: Start the day with an energizer! Theory: Outdoor activities that promote inclusion. Activities: outdoor activities (create knots, activity to enhance trust) 

Day 6: Start the day with an energizer! Theory: Effective and non-effective communication; verbal and non-verbal communication - what do you need for a good communication? Communication tips that help establish good relationships Final evaluation of the program Certification ceremony
